This program will earn you an initial provisional certificate in your CTE content area. Western Michigan University’s CTE teacher certification program provisionally certifies in Business, Marketing, Management, and Technology; Family and Consumer Sciences; and Industrial Technology. This program is recognized as a Troops to Teachers program, but is available to any qualified person. Troops to Teachers

This unique unique teacher certification program at Western Michigan University that is recognized by the Department of Defense’s Troops to Teachers (TTT) program. This online-hybrid Master’s degree program prepares eligible military personnel to teach in three broad areas of Career and Technical Education (CTE): business, family and consumer sciences, and industrial technology.  Graduates of the program earn a Michigan teaching certificated (grades 6-12) in their related CTE area. The Michigan teaching certification has reciprocity with 46 states.  These areas are in very high demand and our graduates are highly sought after by CTE technical centers around the country.  In addition, Military Times EDGE magazine ranks WMU among the best U.S. institutions for military veterans.
