Interim Occupational Certificate

More to come soon! Until then, becoming a certfied CTE teacher in Michigan requires the following steps:

  • Earn a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Document 2 years of full time work in a related field
  • Take nine credit hours of teacher prep coursework
  • Pass the Professional Readiness Exam (PRE) - Test over Reading, Writing, and Math
  • Document Your Content Knowledge Through a Test or Professional Certification (depends on area)
  • Become CPR Certified

With the Current Rules and Standards, You Can Do All of This While Teaching in Your CTE Area.
